A LiveScience article from 2011 says their fake.

http://www.livescience.com/13657-exclusi...fakes.html

So why is it suddenly on several news feeds, all claiming this book is authentic?

Hummmm, let's think about this a sec.

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

The age isn't likely to add much to the debate but the different theology might help dispel some of the misconceptions people have about early xianity.

Given that people still believe in the Garden of Eden? Probably not.

Quote:Experts have authenticated the earliest portrait of Jesus Christ among the pages held together like a ring binder, along with words and symbols that reveal information about Christianity and Judaism.
Ugh, that word "experts" always makes me cringe (and suspicious). There are those who would call Ray Comfort and Ken Ham "experts".

I am not accountable to any God. I am accountable to myself - and not because I think I am God as some theists would try to assert - but because, no matter what actions I take, thoughts I think, or words I utter, I have to be able to live with myself.

Yeah, these stories have a tendency to resurface, even though they may have been debunked years ago. Old, reposted stories have a life of their own. Facepalm
