The time/date right now is 23:36 2015/05/07. Angry

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

Not a big fan of that date format myself.

RE: 24 hour vs 12 hour clock
I like that the day is divided into two 12 hour segments. It breaks the day up nicely and gives the switch from morning to afternoon a psychological boost. As soon as the times switches from am to pm the end of the work day is just a little bit closer. A corner has been turned. If a clock is 24 hours long that just makes the day seem sooooo much longer and stretched out than 12 here and 12 there.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

I prefer 24-hour as a programmer. I prefer 12-hour for general use, just out of habit.

I've never seen 2400 used anywhere; is there some field where that is common?

Quote:In the 12 hour system midnight is 12:00 p.m. one minute later it's 12:01 a.m. Noon is 12:00 a.m. and one minute later it's 12:01 p.m.

I think that's backwards; 12:00AM is midnight, 12:00PM is noon, although neither is technically correct since 12:00 exactly is neither AM nor PM.

From this:
"Note: Most digital clocks tend to show 12 AM and 12 PM to specify midnight and noon, respectively."

Shouldn't that be 2015/05/07 23:36? Any other order makes sorting more complicated.

Don't a.m. and p.m. sort lexicographically?

12:59 > 01:00.

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.

Exactly. From a programming standpoint, it is so much nicer this way.

Either one works for me.
That's why at work I prefer 24h (payroll, bank transactions...), but I'm still surprised at how many can't figure it out.
