The simplified scientific method for pre-school children is more elaborate and conceptually rich:

Tourette's Chimp doesn't actually understand the concept of evidence. It claimed that evidence can exist independent of any reasoning. It was in that context that it "explained" that its dog can magically recognize a ball without any underlying cognition. That was its killer argument. The dog "just knows" its a ball.

Tourette's Chimp inadvertently reveals the cognitive schemas that drift pointlessly through its head and they are infantile. The schemas block out the complexities of reality and this has therapeutic value for Tourette's Chimp. Mammalian object recognition is not complex and it knows nothing about; instead it is so simple it can give a one line account of it.

(A 400-page introduction.)

I can show my fucking dog a ball and tell her I have a ball, and she knows it's a ball.

How Tourette's manages to keep going without air(an argument) is beyond me too.

It is rather impressive though. This viddy always reminds of HoC, especially when he gets to the bottom and goes "What the fuck? Where are the Gwynnies? I was told there would be Gwynnies." Big Grin

This was one of the better finds when I suffered through the "What are you listening to?" thread. Thumbsup

Hmmm, might be time to catch up on that. I've missed the last 30 pages or so.
