Seems to me your concept of semantics is very rigid. The word "pedantic" comes to mind. Has anyone complained of this with you before? Or do you not speak to others this way in public?

I wouldn't call him pedantic at all. He is playing fast and loose with definitions, and strawmanning the shit out of everyone here.

Why can you "comfortably say that it is nothing more..."? What have you observed which allows you to qualify it in this way. We have observed the processes in the brain, and somehow this allows you to emphatically state "it is nothing more than".
How do you know this? How do you know it's not your own interactions causing you to take this view? Your statement is self-refuting.

Because, despite our best efforts we can't discover anything else besides the material universe. There might be more than that, but nothing indicates this in a testable, repeatable manner. As such, yes, I CAN comfortably say that there is nothing beyond this. Not until you demonstrate otherwise.

Given our best efforts can only ever measure the material, your statement is completely incongruous to me.

Your position comes across as if we can't prove it it cannot exist. That position assumes that we possess the adequate ability to observe and then obtain this as knowledge. Unless you have a full picture why make any statement at all?

You claim to not know, but then think fuck it, I will pick a side and hide behind semantics, of lacking belief, the definition of god. It makes no sense to me, so unless you just dislike theists I really don't get it.

This may help, who knows.

You will always fall over here. Many people identify as agnostics as I said. I noticed you never even addressed my post which showed what "the dictionary" definition.

DUMBASS. I'll type this S-L-O-W-L-Y so you might finally understand (thought I fucking doubt it):

I. DON'T. CLAIM. IT'S. KNOWABLE.

I. DON'T CLAIM. IT'S. NOT. KNOWABLE.

I. DON'T. HOLD. ANY. POSITION. ON. THIS.

IT. DOESN'T. MEAN. JACK. SHIT. TO. ME. BEING. AN. ATHEIST.

DON'T. PUT. FUCKING. WORDS. IN. OUR. MOUTHS.

THAT'S. FUCKING. STRAWMANNING.

Fucking moron.

You realise that you typing it slowly has no impact on how I read it. We probably in live different time zones.or something...Hobo That use of full stops and capitals is impeccable.

Anyway, you want evidence to know, correct?
You can only know with evidence, correct?
If there is no evidence for something, you will not know?
Why ask for evidence of something if you believe it may be unknowable?
Are you hoping for proof of something which we cannot prove (i.e. unknowable)?

In other words, wtf are you looking for?

This is exactly where you are wrong. I dare you to find any atheist anywhere, who claims this position.

A critical thinker would rephrase it to read, "as that all we have evidence for, is all we can place confidence in".

That is why the agnostic position is also relevant to most atheist's worldview.

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

You mean you can have confidence that we observed it as we did. Ok that's fine. How exactly does this position aid anyone with answering the existence or non existence of a deity?
