5 meter sea level rise is unavoidable?
I found this article in a description of a video talking about it:
Well it seems to be according to this link right here that no matter what we do there is nothing we can do to change that and if we don't change our ways soon, a 20 meter sea level rise will be unavoidable.

I'm not a 100% sure about everything being accurate here so it'll be great to have your guy's thoughts on it

Interesting article. Thanks for posting it. Can you send it to the Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott?

The main problem is the time scale I think.
The people in positions to actually take any action see hundred year time scales as nothing for them personally to worry about. This us not an immediate danger to them.
Geologically speaking it's a blink, but they can't, or won't see that.

Also a politician trying to get sensible changes through which affect people's lifestyle is not gonna be popular. The guy next to him/her who says "Fuck this guy, he's got some kinda weird green agenda" is gonna get all the votes.

Exactly, all they have to do is what they are doing now....

This place used to be an island in the middle of a huge fuckov lake.

That's where the water can go.

And we can build a big wall and turn the Middle East into a swimming pool.
