"50 Shades of Grey"
Whether you are male or female, I know that you have probably heard about this book, somewhere. It's been talked about everywhere, including high schools. The more I heard about this book, the more tempted I became to read it. Finally, I had a friend bring me the book to borrow and I finished it in merely 2 days. Anyway, here are my thoughts:

If you are not sexually active, this book will most likely be severely revolting and/or traumatizing.
If you are sexually active, then this may not be anything that you couldn't handle.
If you watch porn, that's simply all this book is. Straight, up erotica.

That said, here are somethings to consider:
Firstly, someone needs to take this author’s thesaurus and hide it someplace safe.
“Anticipation hangs heavy and portentous over my head…”
“‘So I brought you here,” he said phlegmatically.
“The ceremony takes another hour to conclude. It’s interminable.”
“Another mercurial mood swing; it’s so hard to keep up.”
“I’m lost in a quagmire of sensation.”
“I revel in his possession, his lust slaking mine.”
“I turn into my pillow and the sluice gates open.”
“Trepidation lances through me.”

Wow.

This woman's "inner goddess" gets to be a bit much, sometimes.
"My inner goddess is jumping up and down, clapping her hands like a five year old.”
“My inner goddess stops jumping and smiles serenely.”
“My inner goddess shakes her head at me.”
“My inner goddess pops her head above the parapet.”

80 references, in all, to Ana’s inner goddess. Dodgy

This excerpt right here, almost made me vomit.

Quote:His breathing is ragged, matching mine.

“When did you start your period, Anastasia?” he asks out of the blue, gazing down at me.

“Err. yesterday,” I mumble in my highly aroused state.

“Good.” He releases me and turns me around.

“Hold on to the sink,” he orders and pulls my hips back again, like he did in the playroom, so I’m bending down.

He reaches between my legs and pulls on the blue string. What!? He gently pulls my tampon out and tosses it into the nearby toilet. Holy fuck. Sweet mother of all. Jeez. And then he’s inside me. Ah!

YUCK!
Who the hell does that?!

Oh and how could I almost forget "Laters, baby."
What. The. Fuck.
Everytime that was written, I wanted to cry.

BUT...

The sex scenes are very descriptive and I think that they could've gotten a lot of women a little hot and bothered. Blush
(Definitely if you're into BDSM.)

People say that the story line itself was rubbish, but I found it highly interesting.
Yes, I will be reading the second one.. and I'll keep you updated (if you'd like).

Bye. Smile

RE: 50 Shades of Grey
It is just smut. If a man wrote it then it would be considered misogynistic.

My wife is reading it.

It's hilariously bad literature.

Only thing worse is Twilight.

I'm sure there is far better erotica out there. Something that is actually well written.

No different than watching an R movie with sex in it.

Meh.

That stuff doesn't bother or convict us.
