Couldn't spell his name. Blush

What was the name of the previous mass shooter? When you have to go look it up you will realise why those comparisons are irrelevant.

The repeated statement of it's only guns that kill lots of people at once is what makes mention of guys like the Unibomber and McVeigh relevant. But guns aren't the issue with what happened in SC - it's the deeply ingrained hated for black people.

When a white cop roughs up a black person there is a group here that raises the racist banner and salutes till their arms fall off. But when a white man slaughters a number of black people - intentionally kills black people, the same people scream that it's guns that are the issue/problem...cause there is no other way, suddenly, to murder multiple people.

Does the badge make it different?

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Oh I am not claiming this was not motivated by racism, that much now is clear. But trying to pretend that one off events like the Oklahoma bombing or the Boston Marathon one are as prevalent or as deadly as the now near monthly mass shootings or that the mass distribution of guns in America is not at least a partial cause for it is laughable.

Take away all the guns in places like SC and the hatred, bigotry, and murder of blacks will continue.

Tell me why the cops get their asses blasted for being racist but this issue is about guns. Help me understand because I don't.

A cop goes off on a black person - who they have encountered because there is some sort of incident call. This is already a potentially risky time. The cop is instantly racist. There was an issue for the cop to respond to...the cop didn't just go find some random black person. There is a reason the situation existed as it did with the racial mix.

A white guy targets a black church...and it's guns.

Makes total sense.

Get rid of the guns and no one will ever die violently again...ever...ever.

You really can't have it both ways.

I think I'm with pablo. The goddam racist Stars&Bars flying at your State house which you didn't raise until the Civil Rights Act makes you fucking racist. (Not you Anjele, Nikki Haley and shit)

And that fucking kid is in total fucking shock. He has no fucking clue why he did that.

There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. -Camus

Simple, Cops being racist is much much worse for the country as a whole than anyone not on the force. A racist cop harrasses and worse turns away even the chance for protection under the law. Institutionalized racism is why a black man charged with the same crime as a white man is 10 times more likely to end up with jail time and when sentenced gets harsher and longer punishments.

The abundance of guns on the other hand give opportunity to your lone wack job to do in minutes what takes months of planning and expertise usually beyond most of the bottom feeders capabilities. McVeigh did not act alone, he would not have been able to pull off that attack had he been in the same situation as the guy that shoot up the church. In fact had this individual not had easy access to an arsenal he most likely would not have had the ability to carry out an attack.

The counter-issues brought up always sweep the fact that America is the only 1st world nation that has mass shootings every month away. Availability of firearms easily obtained and hoarded is a factor whether you wish to believe it or not, to quote Bill Nye "Facts don't require belief". Australia had 1 mass shooting and passed comprehensive gun control legislation and since then has not had another incident. We have tried doing nothing and that hasn't worked, there are more guns in the country now that ever before and yet mass shootings have skyrocketed. Maybe if we tried the approach everyone else in the world has tried and found success with maybe just maybe we can relive the symptoms long enough to work on other issues.

RE: 9 Dead in SC church shooting
If this racist ass had gone into the church and stabbed to death nine people, there isn't a person here who would be screaming that we must get rid of all knives.

Had he hidden in a choir loft and picked people off with a crossbow, there would be no call for getting rid of all crossbows.

Had he set off a bomb via a timer no one would be trying to make illegal all the elements that made up that bomb.

There are always criminals it is how you deal with them that defines who and what you are. Texas is about as backwards as it can get on how it treats everyone.

Well, those criminals are heavily armed...dealing with them while wearing body armor may be a good strategy.
