It's a running joke in the other sciences that psychology still has so much garbage in its history and older methodology that no one can trust what comes out of psychological "research". There is, of course, a modern tradition that is producing excellent results, but it remains that using fudged data from the field of psychology to smear the process used by the other sciences is... well, let's just call it "less than honest".
