A Biblical video game

Video games based upon the Bible have been around for years in small quantities. They were usually produced by Christian mom-and-pop software houses for educational purposes or as alternatives to secular video games. The sales aren't very hot on this stuff; most gamers could care less about Moses parting the Red Sea or some other these from the Bible, but these intrepid Christians keep trying. YouTube celebrity James Rolfe covered some of these Bible Games on his show The Angry Video Game Nerd.





With all the talk these days about violent video games being responsible for tragedies like the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, I think maybe its about time to release a new Bible based video game to the public that is faithful to the books of Exodus through Joshua. I want to create a game which portrays a character living a failthful, wholesome life for God according to Scriptures.

But with a twist.

In rhe game, you're an ancient Israelite mercenary tasked with the invasion of the Promised Land. It's a first person game. You'll have to infiltrate cities, sabotage defenses, participate in the slaying of the enemy forces as well as their wives, children, farm animals and whatever else that creepeth and needs killin', all portrayed in unflinching, gratuitous violence. You'll also be judged on how much gold and jewels you can loot, the number of concubines you take for yourself, and how godly you are in conducting yourself in the war. Collect too much sin, you die and are sent to hell. Remember, the idea here is for an action game that is 100% faithful to the Bible.

That's just a first pass. I'm sure I can dream up a much more detailed game than that.

I am very picky in the video games I play, not just because retardation has many means to seep into one's way of thinking. But also because a lot of them have horrible gameplay. I think these religious video games would fall into both of these categories.

I am not sure how to feel about myself. I actually bought and played Bible Adventures at one time. When I was brainwashed into thinking all secular video games and music were evil and I was going to hell.
