Oh, really? What has fundamentally changed since then? Drinking Beverage

Let's see what we still got after Jeebus came to earth:
War? Check.
Murder? Check.
Rape? Check.
Stealing? Check.
Believers killing each other over different beliefs? Check.
etc.

Do you want to discuss why this is nonsense again, for old times' sake?

So God will use genocide and racism to purify the land for his purpose?

Sounds like Nazi Germany to me.

RE: A Letter From My Theist Professor Mother
Yeah, that's what happened. ^^

...and how the fuck was "Holy Spirit not present in OT times?" What a Christian-centric view of things, considering that it is Holy Spirit that spins up prophets. Dodgy

...and what the fuck is "I hope you're listening to God's answers?" That double standard never fails to annoy me. Listening to voices in your head is bad, unless it is God, unless again it comes up in court, in which case it wasn't God. Dodgy

Well, who else is going to come up with compelling responses?

OneDream, your mam is a professor? Either way she sounds extremely articulate and intelligent. It frightens me to see how set in her beliefs she is. Suddenly everything can be excused with words like: "gods ways are not our own". It's like her brain has just switched off that part that questions belief. I think we're all indoctrinated to a certain degree. We don't question the conventions and norms that society places on us. We don't question what we consider to be appropriate or inappropriate, good or bad, taboo or not. You have broken free and are able to see things from a clear perspective. Don't ever stop questioning.

I think the term is "compartmentalization"? And perhaps rationalization counts too?

"the royal we"

Rarely ever does any good come from royal things.
