A Missused Youth
I'm just another standard story of christian upbringing and realizations--with my own little variations on the tale--and, well, let's just say that I never would have thought I would end up here. I've spent the last several days going through a painful and all-consuming process--and I know it will take me much longer to come to terms with all this--but after 22 years of living an indoctrinated life I can say now that I feel that it's been wasted, or at the very least filled with unnecessary anxiety. I'm trying now to put that behind me. For good.

Hi. I'm an atheist.

You are welcome here. There is a thread for deconversion stories if you feel telling yours might help.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

Hi. I'm an atheist.

You can't change what has been, just be glad that you are free of it now. Welcome to reality.
