John 14:6King James Version (KJV)

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

According to xian tradition, He is the father son and holy ghost.
Quote:2) why can't an atheist who does good works enter heaven?

Predestination Alla.

Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Quote:3)what does it mean: I am the way? HOW is He the way? for WHOM is He the way?

Again, predestination.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Romans 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

no banjo dont do it...dont get sucked into the circle jerk of alla's word games for beginners game! run.....lol.

gonna have to prove that verse my brother.

Well, no. I just referenced it and did not directly quote. Although I could have quoted the Bible--since I am a missionary/preacher's kid.

It's not me who's bound by your scriptures, but it seemed apropos.

I answered a specific thread. stick to it.

You were okay up until the last imperative. Just makes me want to derail it.

Poor ScottD, entering the conversation with so little competence that even Alla is able to rip holes in his nonsense.

Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him."…

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

Fair enough. But I was asking indirectly more what you—as an individual—thought of the posits.

And I'll say it again for clarification; as an atheist, I'm not satisfied with any response from a Christian that simply quotes the Abrahamic bible and expects that to be sufficient.

Quote: As a Christian, my point of view is based on what I believe to be Christ's teaching i.e.: The Bible.
As it seems, you're telling me that you regard the bible as an absolute authority—which you presumably refer to in moments of challenge, fear or doubt. And if that's the case, how then do you differentiate which—if any—of your god's instructions are erroneous? Such as the killing of homosexuals?

I'm more than sure as a modern Christian you'd find the killing of homosexuals just as repugnant as us atheists, but what inner, human profundity lets you disobey or reject your god in this instance? Do you sometimes see your god as wanting in his/her morals and ethics? Or do you sometimes believe that your moral stance is of a higher calibre than his/hers?

I'm a creationist... I believe that man created God.

Oh, I agree Banjo that a knowledge of scripture does come in handy in demolishing said scripture—ironically.

The point I was trying to make (apparently unsuccessfully as it turns out LOL) was that quoting a single verse of the bible isn't a satisfactory response when a more detailed, personal interpretation is required in order to address the question.

All too often, people like Scott say only—in their response—"Oh, the Bible says thou shalt not commit logical fallacies" [sic] as though it addresses each and every nuance of a question from an atheist. Or as though it's the ultimate argument, and defies any further questioning. The good ol' "bible says" logic.
