RE: A definition for freedom
They are the most influencial when it comes to law making and how a government operates, so their input has more power than others. This law making and governing system has a lot to do with the balance between freedoms and restrictions under their jurisdiction. Church leaders often fall into the rich and influential catagory and sometimes into the tyrant catagory. I hope this helps.

When I find myself in times of trouble, Richard Dawkins comes to me, speaking words of reason, now I see, now I see.

Sadly the more powerful have more influence , and they seem to keep the mases contempt with a carrot on a stick aka the Bible.

RE: A definition for freedom
My definition of freedom is for people to do whatever makes them happy as long as it doesn't impact anyone else in a negative way.

No, I meant physical freedom as affected by laws and society, including social pressures.

"Freedom" is just another word for "nothin' left to lose"...

I'm not sure what you mean by "hippie style", but Bioshock's Rapture is pretty much my dream city. Does that help?
