A game I like to play with the city I work in.
The Mississippi River separates Baton Rouge from Port Allen and East Baton Rouge Parish from West Baton Rouge Parish. It is literally like walking into another country when you cross that river.

On one side, you have one the fastest growing, most commercially successful metropolises in the South (Baton Rouge), and on the other side, you have a dingy, run down, desolate wasteland-hellhole of a city that is Port Allen. The only thing Port Allen has going for it is that it's a port. And that means industry. Commercial business are almost non-existent... and everything that's left is in desperate need of repairs and restocking.

But, that's not the game.

The game I like to play is "Does Port Allen Have It?"

I've been very annoyed that whenever I need something; I usually have to go across the river to Baton Rouge to get it.

Note to self - don't move to Port Allen.

Well that's got to be the only town on the entire planet without a McDonalds.
There are small villages inhabbited by 'primitive' humans who have never had contact with anyone outside their tribe, completely undiscovered, in the middle of the Amazon who have a McDonalds. true story.

Is there a Subway?

I read that in the voice of Stephen Fry! Big Grin Too funny.

Yep. You are correct. Misread the map.

Edit: going to correct a few. Port Allen actually extends further than I thought.
Edit 2: Actually no. That's unincorporated Port Allen. So, that doesn't count. The addresses are Port Allen because they don't belong to any city and it's the closest one.
