Yeah no, there is more problems with this country than just the religious folk. Let us not forget our terrorist we call the government.

I'm pretty sure all countries have their good and bad parts. America can't be all bad. Sure, that woman might be a good example of the average American, but have you seen the average citizen of X country?

Yeah, everyone hates America, but everyone wants to live there. And stupidity is, unfortunately, not country-specific.

Nobody should, this country is backwards, and all the amendments we made we don't even follow, and it is not new. During WW1 saying america sucks would get you in trouble. Now a days some people are dined freedom of religion(like how some states won't let atheist be governors.)

I mean people who are not Americans Tongue
At least in my country, everyone thinks it would be awesome to move to America. My brother has moved there and he still loves it.

You keep talking about America's problems, as if all the other countries are problem-free. Do you have any idea what's going on in other countries? It would be a dream come true for me to live in the US for a while, it would be paradise compared to this place.

Do you have blasphemy laws in the US? Do you have to pay taxes when you're homeless and poor? Do you get your disability allowances cut if you have no arms and legs and they have to test you again in order for you to keep receiving it and you have to wait maybe for a year for that because hey, your limbs may have grown back? Do you have kids shot at and killed in protests and the government hardly doing anything about it? And that's just the top of the iceberg.

I see you want to go to Japan, do you even know what it's like there? Have you talked to people who have moved there? Because I have. And it's not what you see in anime. It's one of the most difficult countries for a Westerner to fit in.

Anyway, I won't derail the thread any further, I'm just saying, don't confirm the stereotype of the American who doesn't know what's happening around the world. The world loves and hates the US. 9 out of 10 people I know would go to live there immediately if they could.

It's not that bad. At least not worse than the rest of the world (with the exception of maybe 3 or 4 countries that are an actual paradise but hey, that just puts you in the second place which is still pretty damn good if you ask me).

RE: A good christian mother.....
Not everyone wants to go to the US. What you are describing undergroundp sounds pretty much like what's happening in the UK at the moment and most people there dream of moving to Australia or New Zealand. Although I have heard that things are particularly bad in Greece at the moment.

Personally speaking I'm open to the idea of living in Canada but I've never wanted to live in the US. I just fear I'd either end up shot or on death-row, and at best exploited by whatever company hired me. I think my academic career floundered because I never considered a position in America. Just two days ago after a Skype interview I was asked which other countries I would consider moving to. I replied anywhere in the world except England and America.

Many Europeans are flooding into Germany and for good reason. The quality of life here is high, there's work and things work well, but it can be difficult to fit in and establish a life here. I certainly don't think that I have managed it yet. There is a chance that I might get a job in Switzerland which is the one country where the Germans go to get a better life. It seems even more difficult to fit in and establish life there as far as I can see.

Every country does have its own unique set of advantages and disadvantages, it's just a matter of deciding which ones best suit what you want from life. And sometimes things are better or worse in particular countries. You can do really well by hopping the economic cycles and earning in different currencies.

I completely agree with everything you just said. The part in bold is the exact point I was trying to make.

Of course when I said "everyone" I didn't mean literally everyone. Many Greeks would also love to move to Australia or Canada, and that's why I kind of said that the US come "second" somehow.

The dream of younger people to move to the US is also a matter of pop culture I suppose, which is clearly not the case with a choice like Australia or Canada.

RE: A good christian mother.....
While we're dragging on Japan, I should mention (again to you Paleo) that it's economy has stagnated and it's population is in serious decline. It's old person heavy and young people aren't shagging around enough (must be all that tentical porn) and reproducing. Not to mention all the sweeping under the rug of things like corruption and true crime statistics.

You're better off going to Singapore, South Korea or Australia.
Japan is a country on the brink of disaster. Meanwhile Singapore is always good, South Korea is very decent and Australia is good if you can get past the god awful accent and racism, plus Australia is geographically situated in an interesting location pending the shift in power towards Asia in the near future. Plus the bonus of Singapore or Australia is you don't need to learn a new language. If you like cabbage and Starcraft I highly recommend South Korea though.

But then we elected the Tea Party to power.

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.

I keep talking about americas problems because I live here, I never said this is the worst country or that no country has any problems, but america is fucked up and it will continue to happen, this country will be like those in the middle east, once beautiful then it will fuck up and will have to recover to return to its glory.

Not yet.

If you are homeless no, but if you own a home like an apartment or a house yes, poor or not.

No

Not yet again, but it has happened. Don't believe me ask the negros during slave times or the native americans when they were being slaughtered

I already know that, I know the crazy old WW2 population, I know that sexual activity is low there, and I know Japanese people don't watch anime 24/7, plus I barely fit in here. You don't think it is abnormal that a teenager is siting here talking about how bad america's government is? Most teens complain about why they can't go out with friends or their phone isn't working around here in america. I will have no problem adapting, I already know what I must get used to. Plus I barely watch anime.

Seeing as it is greece, I could understand that move, though living here sucks for me, and it does not help when your parents refuse to stop saying america still hates negros and you are somewhat of a worry some fella.

If it is not that bad now, it will get worst later. America is not the worst country, but it is fucked up. I have been to camden, a city broken down, with crime every night, roads and buildings slowly deteriorating, with no mayor at all. However america wants to "help" the middle east more. And no I am not talking about fixing the current situation with syria that is fine, I am talking about the spread democracy BS in the middle east. I know once this situation dies down america is going to stay there so it can spread democracy and help the middle east instead of trying to help fix up many communities in its own damn country.
