A little denominational humor
An Op-Ed piece in The New York Times this morning by a "genuine Mormon" argued that Mormons are not Christians and should think of Mormonism as a fourth Abrahamic religion, on a par with Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Yeah, whatever. But this comment from a New York reader who goes by Jeo made me smile:

Walking across a bridge one day, a man saw another man standing
on the edge, about to jump off, ran over and said "Stop!
 Don't do it!"

"Why shouldn't I?"

"Well, there's so much to live for!"

"Like what? I'm not married, I have no job..."

"Well... are you religious or atheist?"

"Religious."

"Me too! Are you Christian, Buddhist...?"

"Christian."

"Me too! Are you catholic or protestant?"

"Protestant."

"Me too! Are you episcopalian or baptist?"

"Baptist"

"Wow! Me too! Are you Baptist church of god, or
Baptist church of the lord?"

"Baptist church of god!"

"Me too! Are you original Baptist church of god,
or are you reformed Baptist church of god?"

"Reformed Baptist church of god"

"Me too! Are you reformed Baptist church of god,
reformation of 1879, or reformed baptist church of god,
reformation of 1915?"

"Reformed Baptist church of god, reformation of 1915"

"Die, heretic scum!", the man said, and pushed him off.

To many of us, listening to people debate which cult they belong to often sounds roughly like this.

ETA: The original author of the joke is Emo Philips. Thanks to Chas for pointing that out.

Religious disputes are like arguments in a madhouse over which inmate really is Napoleon.

One of my favorites. The author of the joke is Emo Philips.

Thanks for the reference! The author of the comment didn't give any indication the joke wasn't original.

RE: A little denominational humor
It is strange how fricken picky they are about their denominations.
There was a Cheers episode about Woody and his fiance fighting because their respective Methodist denominations weren't quite the same. I don't remember what her's was, but I remember her getting mad and ending their fight by yelling, "Alright for you, Mr Missouri Synod!"
Sheesh! So much adieu about nothing. Shy

I remember Emo - I love him.
One of my favorites of his was:

So, I'm at the wailing wall, standing there like a moron, with my harpoon.

Here's an older article about the joke Cuff posted. Emo waxes further on religion, as well. Thumbsup
