RE: A modest proposal for gun control
Fired a gun for the first time yesterday.
My soon-to-be-brother-in-law brought his .22 around to my parents place to kill some rabbits.

Couldn't find any rabbits, but my dad and grandad were more then happy to provide targets for us. (beer cans).

Cool! .22LR is def the best way to start because it's cheap and you can concentrate on fundamentals without that pesky recoil thing.

Glad you had fun. While Logico Humano no doubt considers you a bloodthirsty killer in the making now, I'm glad you had a chance to shoot a gun in person. And .22s are a lot of fun to shoot, too!

Yeah it was a lot of fun. I've always wanted to shoot a gun, just never had the opportunity.
Really keen to buy an air rifle now actually. Doesn't require a gun license and cheap ammo.

Yeah but to get a handgun license you have to have had your gun license for like a year and get an endorsement from a gun club/range which usually requires a long time membership and participation.

Makes sense really.
You can easily counsel a handgun, not so much a rifle.

RE: A modest proposal for gun control
Yes that does seem like an awful lot of money for a Glock - they retail for about $500 plus tax in the States. I also noticed that a CZ 85 was selling for $1300. New Zealand must levy large taxes on gun purchases.

RE: A modest proposal for gun control
Well like I said, nobody owns guns (well very few people), so it's probably more likely supply and demand, low demand means higher price.
