A new way to insult surgeons
I visited someone in a cancer center today, and the name of the facility revealed nothing in the way of Christianity, but I haven't looked it up yet to see if it is secular.

Anyway, I walked into the first-floor lobby and straight ahead behind the glass of one of the reception areas was this 8-foot-x-5-foot oil painting on canvas of a surgeon over a patient (and I think there was a nurse or assistant next to him) and then there was Jesus, with his hands sort of guiding the surgeon.

I almost laughed out loud. How insulting and transparent. Pathetic.

Indeed, but I have to say that I havent witnessed a single incident in which a patient thanks the god here and not the doctor.

Here it is, it's the No. 1 image, the one where the doctor is performing brain surgery.

And I did a little research, and yes this center is listed in some religious company databases.

Oh it's God guiding their hands?
I guess someone can tell current medical students they don't need to study for 4-5years and do XX amount of hours practice because Jesus will guide their hands and do everything for them...

Ya know, before coming to TTA I couldn't give two flying shits about religion.
But since coming here shit like this just pisses me off.
It baffles me how people can be so willfully ignorant and stupid.

The black plague looks like penicillin compared to what religion has done to mankind.

Some folk thank God when all goes well with the surgery. If it goes wrong, then of course, it's the surgeons fault. Typical.

So then....using this ("thank you Jebus") logic, there should also be murals and paintings of Jebus wringing his hands in glee as the energy rays emanate from his eyes and hands causing the mutations, AV Malformations, strokes. and aneurisms from which people die every day of the week, before any interventions are available. Put one of them on the wall, and see how long they leave it up. Idiots.

I keep waiting for Jesus to be sued for malpractice.

Maybe that why God always needs more money, people must be sueing him at St Peters gate!

Is it a reputable cancer treatment facility? If it is, then shut the fuck up.
