A question about a podcast
In one of the podcasts, Seth talked about a guy who is a master of sugestion, that can cause a person to believe he's some kind of god.
Does anyone remember what podcast it was on, or better yet, what the name of that person was?

Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to
believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?

Never mind, by sheer luck I found it watching Dawkins videos, wasn't even looking for it Smile
The name is Derrek Brown if anyone cares.

RE: A question about a podcast
Funny to think that if I was a theist, I'd say God helped me find the name...
Just a thought - do theists dismiss the ideas of luck and chance completely?
In most theist's heads, evolution is pure chance, so do they take the other extreme where there is nothing left to chance?

RE: A question about a podcast
Actually the guy I think you're talking about is Derren Brown and he had a show called "The Experiments" on the UK's channel 4. The guy does bits of suggestive social experiments and is some kind of magician too I think. From what I've seen of him on youtube he is an utter genius! He once did the Stanley Milgram experiment and showed how any average Joe is pre-disposed to shocking someone past the point of death as long as someone else in a position of authority is telling them to do so! This experiment was done decades ago to prove that Hitler's Germany could have almost happened anywhere. Apparently, it still can- scary stuff
