RE: AA - Atheists and Alcoholism
My plan, Fred, looks like this:

1) Don't drink today.
2) Avoid situations where I might be tempted to break #1.
3) Address the underlying issues which lead me to reach for alcohol.
4) Work on serenity and acceptance so that anger, sadness, loneliness, etc are weakened as triggers.
5) Keep my hands busy.
6) Commit to being happy.
7) Network so that when an urge strikes you have support available.

Of course, all these require practical actions. A plan is nothing without execution.

Your plan will most likely look different, but if it works for you, it's a good one.

Have you any support for this claim?

The motto in my men's group was "Just don't fuckin' drink."

What you do in the privacy of your home is your business. Let's keep this clean eh? Wink

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.
