About the anti vaxine movement.

On a sidenote, when you Americans hear a voice of reason like that coming from a Canadian network, does it annoy you since your news networks are such uninformative garbage?

That was awesome.

Penn & Teller also have a great episode about this nonsense. Even if vaccines cause autism (and they don't, but even if they did) it would still be a good idea to vaccinate children when one considers the many life-threatening diseases that vaccinations can stop.

RE: About the anti vaxine movement.
My mother was a little girl in Canada in 1925 when there was an outbreak of diphtheria that swept through the little town she lived in. Six or seven of her classmates were killed by diphtheria.

There's a great and true story of the dog Balto and if you don't know the story it's amazing. In the same year that diphtheria ravaged the little town my mother lived in, diphtheria spread through Nome, Alaska, but the only place a serum was available was in Anchorage, Alaska which was 1000 miles away. Mushing teams were put together and the hardest leg of the trip was led by a dog named Balto, who pushed through a whiteout blizzard and horrible touraine to complete the trip. It saved many young lives.

What would these idiot anti-vaxers do today if this same scenario happened? They'd let the children die because it's big pharma.

Balto. Who's a good dog!

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

RE: About the anti vaxine movement.
What about SV40? Merck willingly and knowingly injected hundreds of thousands with sv40 contaminated polio vaccines... It took and act of congress to force them to stop. Now sv40 is being found in the cancer cells of people injected with the dirty vaccines. Merck's high priest of vaccines Maurice Hilleman refers to sv40 as the 'monkey cancer virus' and now they are finding it in people's cancer.

thats one reason people don't trust chemical companies that make vaccines.

Not Merck.
Accidental contamination.
No 'act of Congress'.

It was known by Merck for 6+ years and it did take an act of congress to stop them... and you might want to look up the Maurice Hilleman interview with pbs about how accidental it was.

It was Lederle that produced the vaccines, not Merck.

polio vaccine

Hilleman was at Merck when he warned of possible contaminations.
Quote:Hilleman was one of the early vaccine pioneers to warn about the possibility that simian viruses might contaminate vaccines. The best-known of these viruses became SV40, a viral contaminant of the polio vaccine, whose discovery led to the recall of Salk's vaccine in 1961 and its replacement with Albert Sabin's oral vaccine. The contamination actually occurred in both vaccines at very low levels, but because the oral vaccine was ingested rather than injected, it did not result in infections or any harm.

I might point out that no matter how amoral or greedy "big pharma" (which is itself largely a myth) may be, causing autism in your customers is NEVER a good business plan.
