RE: About the anti vaxine movement.
People will start clamoring for vaccines once their kids die. If that's what it will take, it's sad but people will believe what they want to believe until the get a wake up call.

Not true for universities. Doesn't surprise me you wouldn't know that.

I just searched 'universities vaccines' and this was first from miami u.

"All new students must also provide proof of immunization against hepatitis B and meningococcal meningitis or sign a waiver declining these immunizations. An immunization form must be completed and returned to the Student Health Service prior to arrival on campus. For students less than 18 years old, the meningitis/ hepatitis vaccine waivers must be signed by a parent or legal guardian."

Another simple waiver.

Is there any that don't allow a simple waiver? I don't doubt that there may be some but the issue still remains that going to a university is a voluntary choice.

I think all those people are waiting for the vaccine that prevents autism then they will start the clamoring.

It appears West Virginia and Mississippi require a valid medical reason supported by a physician's affirmation for exemption at any educational level. Go figure.

Cali is about to pass a law doing the same thing, after the measles outbreak there. This stupid trend has started costing real lives so the push back has started and since all the facts are on the pro-vaccine side when having hearings it gets pretty damn sad.

you first said " We don't let them into our schools unless they're vaccinated. So not completely powerless. "

Now you are down to maybe WVU or Miss U... guess what? you are still powerless to do anything about it and more and more people will continue to refuse the dirty vaccines everyday.

Nope. Every school in WV or MS not just uni. Including private and parochial. And of course we're not powerless. We just pass legislation similar to WV or MS. Job done.

The backlash to the anti-vax movement is building and fast. Wait til the first immune compromised kid dies cause of some idiot like anti and they sue them for everything they have for reckless endangerment.

My son went to uni and lived in Ashland, OR raising 5 kids. He was appalled to find out it was the least vaccinated city in the US. His response, "Damn good thing I got my kids vaccinated then. Hippies gonna die."

RE: About the anti vaxine movement.
Good luck with that backlash. Everyday more and more people are refusing vaccines and its going to continue.

It seems WV does not have an exemption except for medical. Thats probably why they have such a large amount of home schooling there. There is also legislation to allow for more exemptions. Other good news though is that two doctors in pittsburgh that tell the truth about vaccines have very popular radio shows that are broadcast into west virginia. The one guy used to have the highest rated show on the high power all conservative fm talk channel and he's a liberal jew. Now he recently switched to KDKA and broadcasting all over WV.

Other than that there are 48 'states' with very liberal exemptions.
