Adopt an Atheist
Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, has recently started “a new initiative aimed at atheists” titled “Adopt an Atheist.” Donohue asks “everyone to contact the American Atheist affiliate in his area, letting them know of your interest in “adopting” one of them.” He writes, “Let them know of your sincere interest in working with them to uncover their inner self. They may be resistant at first, but eventually they may come to understand that there were Christian all along.” If we hurry, [...] they will no longer be looked upon as people who believe in nothing, stand for nothing and are good for nothing.”

Adopt a Christian campaign has commenced in retaliation:

"To think of what the world has suffered from superstition, from religion, from the worship of beast and stone and god, is
almost enough to make one insane."

Robert G. Ingersoll

RE: Adopt an Atheist
I've sent a letter to Bill and Melinda Gates, asking if they would like to adopt me as their atheist.

No response yet...

RE: Adopt an Atheist
This could backfire though. If they adopt a reasonable atheist who challenges their beliefs??? Or are they gonna only be very careful and adopt kids?

Dunno, think I could be down with being adopted but I got a few questions first.

1) What kind of health insurance you got?
2) Where would I sleep? (pics and dimensions required)
3) What kind of home environment am I moving into? (just let me put a webcam in your kitchen for 72 hours)
4) What are my chores?
5) Is it a problem if I come with 5 dependents?

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
