Upon reflection, there are a lot of things that we have that don't make sense in the context of being created "before the fall". The obvious one is sexual parts, which is silly if there was no intention for man to procreate before becoming sinful... but how about an immune system -- why would we need that if man wasn't originally intended to die? Why do we have canine teeth if humans weren't given permission until Genesis 9:3 to eat meat? It's all so stupid in the context of creation.

My girlfriend is mad at me. Perhaps I shouldn't have tried cooking a stick in her non-stick pan.

I asked a similar question to a senior member of the congregation I used to attend while I was studying with him one day. He told me that the sensation we know as "fear" was instilled into human beings after Adam and Eve ate the fruit, thus disobeying God's commandment. Like when they realized they were naked all of a sudden. Now they were scared, too, I guess. Eh...
