Advice to young atheist whippersnappers: choose your life mate wisely
http://theunconverted.com/if-youre-a-non...es-wisely/

There are few more horrific scenarios that I can think of (I have a two-year old son that, so far, is relatively indoctrination free) than the one playing out in a court room somewhere in the US right now (probably in many court rooms now that I think about it).

I wonder why your friend didn't see it coming but then, I guess, love is blind.

I suggest he submits this to show that the catholic church is NOT a force for good in this world...

Sadly, I don't think many people think about this when they're young. Moreover, many people are still believers when they fall in love and start a family.

That was certainly the case for me, but fortunately, I picked a generally open-minded believer for a wife, so it looks like I'll be able to raise my kid generally indoctrination free.

Good for you.

Personally, I find multi-sourcing has the best rewards.

Yeah, I don't plan on marrying at all, but if I do, I definitely not marrying anyone religious. And I am NOT going to send my kids (if I have kids) to a catholic school. I'm not homeschooling them either. They're going to go to public school. Just like I do.

Hm, I like how I'm the only whippersnapper who has commented on this...Tongue

I used to say that I would send my kids to public school like I did too.

But now I can totally see myself sending my son to a completely secular private school if it's the best option around. I'm also good with solid charter/magnet schools, though.

I can see how magnet schools can be attractive.

[actually I have no earthly idea what a magnet school is]
