He was so perfect as snape. As a HP fan this is very depressing

Did you know? Die Hard was his first movie he ever played in.

Way to hit the ground running.

I didn't know that.

I remember seeing him in the West End in Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

I think the first movie I saw of his was Truly, Madly, Deeply which is still one of my all time favourites.

I have no knowledge of Harry Potter but I'd guess it was a profitable role for him which is a good thing.

Also, despite my love of the radio series he will ever be the voice of Marvin the Paranoid Android in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Gonna have to watch Prince of Thieves today then.

Joe Biden has already started off on a bad track record of his new appointed world wide role to defeat cancer this year.

So sad. Such a great actor. Loved him.

I wouldn't say it was my favorite of his roles, but his turn as Elliott Marston in "Quigley Down Under," was a very under-rated performance in an otherwise less than remarkable film. If the film is worth 3 stars Rickman earned 2.5 of them.

I first saw him in a tiny part in a forgetable film called January Man. He played a painter who was perched on a ladder, painting a tiny bird on a big blank wall.... and when he turned around to respond to a question, he sort of puffed on a cig and went back to his painting. I fell instantly in love.

Then, Truly, Madly, Deeply - I still hold on to that one as the best thing I could ever need at a particular time in my life. Ironic that it's about mourning and moving on. Shy

Love Actually has been my official holiday season movie since it came out... I actually got 2 friends together with that film - they're still together!!

Bottle Shock was WONDERFUL and I can't imagine anyone else as Hilly krystal in whatever that CBGB film was called.

I will miss him terribly. Undecided

I loved, loved, loved his voice! He's one of those actors who could read the names out of a phone book and make it sound fascinating and wonderful.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.
