Guaranteed you will lol when he confronts Alex Jones at the end.

So much for your guarantees!

I was disappoint. It was a chance for satire and subtle irony squandered in an attempt at playground humour.

But that might be just a matter of preference regarding what we find amusing.

More to my taste, namely satire and subtle irony, from the convention era, was the spitter himself:

I'm a little amused by the fact that Ana, an Armenian women, is working for a news organization that shares its name with the group that perpetrated the Armenian genocide and whose host has denied its occurrence in the past.

It does seem to be somewhat ironic but it's a little more nuanced than that.

Young Turks

wikipedia Wrote:Young Turks was a political reform movement in the early 20th century that ... favored the replacement of the Ottoman Empire's absolute monarchy with a constitutional government.

... which means that they were republicans Laughat

wikipedia Wrote:With this revolution, the Young Turks helped to establish the Second Constitutional Era in 1908, ushering in an era of multi-party democracy for the first time in the country’s history.

... democratic-republicans.

But then they splintered along nationalist (CUP) vs. decentralist (FAP Laughat ) lines.

After some shenanigans the CUP's
wikipedia Wrote:"Three Pashas" exercised absolute control over the Ottoman Empire from 1913 to 1918, bringing the country closer to Germany, signing the Ottoman–German Alliance to enter the Empire into World War I on the side of the Central Powers and carrying out the Armenian Genocide.

... because that's the kinda thing that nationalism does.

wikipedia Wrote:Following the war, the struggle between the two groups of Young Turks revived, Freedom and Accord Party regaining the control of the Ottoman government and Three Pashas fleeing into exile. Freedom and Accord rule was short lived, however, and the empire soon collapsed.

wikipedia Wrote:The term "Young Turk" is now used to signify "a progressive, revolutionary, or rebellious member of an organization, political party, etc, esp one agitating for radical reform"

So the parallels (flawed though they may be) of the hawkish establishment democrats with the CUP and the parallels of the rebellious, progressive Young Turks + (ironically) an Old Jewish Senator with the FAP are there for all to see.

about Ana being a "fat-shamer"

If there is any benefit to the Trump victory (and it might be the only one), Ana has become slightly less authoritarian in her language recently.

Hitchens Wrote:The person who is certain, and who claims divine warrant for his certainty, belongs now to the infancy of our species.

... and Political Correctness was becoming the new icon. In this regard, Trump is the ultimate iconoclast.

Not that I have a problem with Political Correctness of the useful sort where it a tool to raise awareness regarding human dignity.

Hitchens Wrote:Beware the irrational, however seductive. Shun the 'transcendent' and all who invite you to subordinate or annihilate yourself. Distrust compassion; prefer dignity for yourself and others. Don't be afraid to be thought arrogant or selfish. Picture all experts as if they were mammals. Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity. Seek out argument and disputation for their own sake; the grave will supply plenty of time for silence. Suspect your own motives, and all excuses. Do not live for others any more than you would expect others to live for you.

Recent studies are highlighting a link between 'compassion' and 'authoritarianism' as leading to "PC gone mad".

As Stewart Lee notably pointed out (for Jeremy Clarkson read Alex Jones) ...

... humourously...
