All he did was fix the plumbing.
From Jerry Coyne's book Faith vs. Fact.

"In 2012, a statue of Jesus in Mumbai began oozing water from it's feet. The 'holy water', some of which was consumed, was seen as a miracle, and hundreds of Catholics flocked to worship the image. Unfortunately, the Indian skeptic Sanal Edamaruku discovered that the 'miracle' was due to faulty plumbing: blocked drainage of a nearby toilet caused the statue to wick fecally contaminated water into the base, emerging at Jesus's feet. One would think that would settle the matter, but outraged believers caused Edamaruku to be indicted for violating Indian laws against hurting religious sentiments. He fled the country to avoid jail, a refugee from superstition."

That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs but what a ship is... what the Black Pearl really is... is freedom. -Jack Sparrow

What the Censored
'No, don't throw me in jail! I just saved you from drinking any more poo water!'

Makes me wonder what would happen if they'd started dying at the statue's feet from something in the contaminated water... I bet they would flock to the scene for their chance to partake Drinking Beverage

It's stuff like this that show some people just don't care about truth.

So, what does one learn from this story. One learns that religion blinds people to such an extent that they'll eat shit.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

I've heard about this. It makes me nervous, because I can easily see a bunch of Christian fucktards trying to pass similar laws here in the US.

This reminds of the Simpsons episode, "I'm Goin' to Praiseland," with people hallucinating from a gas leak in front of a statue.
