How does that work? How does one 'become a theist'? Consider

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

Are you looking at joining a religious group/church for the sense of community or do you think that a god as described in the holy books really exists?

Cool

With the right font and a little kerning anyone can do it. Smile

Seriously though, I had the same question. I'm trying to imagine a "theist" prayer for salvation.

"Dear undefined and unamed diety who may or may not listen to prayers or intervene in the affairs of us humans who developed from simpler forms of life on a little speck of dust floating in space with no evidence of intervention from you except for possibly the initial spark to get it all going because we haven't really figured that part out yet. If you actually care about how we behave and plan to punish us in the afterlife, please let me off of the hook, because I decided to believe in your existence. Or all of your existences as the case may be. If there are a bunch of you 'up there' somewhere please don't be offended. Monotheism just happens to be in style at the moment, which is why I assumed there was only one at first...

Ok...um....thanks. Or Amen, or whatever..."

Thats cool.

I'd like to understand your reasoning in your own words, though. Shy
