In French they say, Le ridicule tue (Ridicule kills, but could also be interpreted as Ridicule silences)

Hmmm Consider... That`s actually a great way to dilute the message.

So for the next Nazi rally, Laughat
the counter-protesters could come dressed as ...

Klingons, with signs saying something appropriately hilarious about planetary rights,
or
Ghenghis Khan`s troops, complete with small-ish poneys
or
Napoleonic soldiers, signing the Marseillaise,
or
Star Wars stormtroopers, on stike for better health benefits from the Empire
or ...

Careful, this could get seriously funny Laugh out load

I love that! I'm thinking dressed as the Easter Bunny with a sign that says "Eat more carrots."

Arguing with people on facebook who think these white supremacists deserved to be beat up and lose their jobs.
Why do liberal leftards struggle so much with the concept of equality and free speech?

RE: Alt right protests
So maybe I missed it but I don't see anything on this forum about the *events* in Durham, NC today.

This morning "regular programming" was interrupted by live coverage of the "protesters" in Durham. And the next couple of hours or so was basically eaten by these fucktards. Immediately, when there were only a few dozen people there the media started asking people to speak to them---"excuse me sir, can you tell me why you're here?" "No. I don't want to talk to you." "Too busy," etc. Seriously it took them about 10 or so people before anyone would even talk to the reporter. I've never seen anything like it. It gave every appearance that at least half the people really didn't have a clue why they were there, they just wanted to see what was going to happen.

So best I can summarize, somebody had posted something on some kind of social media that the KKK was gonna have a rally there at (I think it was) noon today. So sheeple...excuse me, people started showing up to "counter-protest." There didn't seem to be any kind of leader or organization to it but the crowd swelled to a few hundred who were basically aimlessly following each other around. Until somebody finally grabbed a megaphone and started leading a chant. Eventually someone finally did speak to the reporter and explained that they were there to show the KKK that they were not welcome.

Now a couple of relevant facts---1) as soon as Durham businesses got wind of this most of them sent their employees home and locked the doors. Prudent in light of Charlottesville and the fear that it would come to that. 2) when the KKK is planning anything in these parts they always go about it "legally." Now don't jump me for that phrasing, I just mean if they are going to have a rally or parade they always get a permit. So we do hear about it in advance and the cops do know about it as well. 3) No permit filed, no plans for the KKK to ever have been there.

So basically, about a thousand people disrupted all kinds of businesses for most of a Friday, causing them to lose money, to protest something that was never more than a rumor. As noon came and went so started the made up bullshit to advance it "uh I heard the time was supposed to be 5:00, not noon." "Uh I heard it was some other group coming, not the KKK."

Eventually somebody defaced the stand where the statue was torn down a few days ago and of course, the cameras saw exactly who did it.

I was especially disgusted when the reporter is running at the mouth while in the background you can hear someone saying "we need a medic here...please somebody, we need some medical attention here..." and not only does the reporter never acknowledge it, nobody at the station ever says, "hold on, you may want to turn around and see what's happening up front..." Never did hear what that was about but since at some point (like maybe tonight's 6:00 news) it was said that there were no injuries I can only theorize that someone was overcome by the oppressive heat today.

All in all a day that just made me shake my head.

Okay then, let's thank Obama for empowering one of these two?

Outta, thanks for taking the time to share that. I haven't watched tv today but saw nothing on any of my internet feeds.

Backslider, regarding your pic- Antifa is anti-Israel? I didn't know that was one of their things...?

@BackSlider

Antifa are socialist, but neo-nazi are fascist. There is a huge difference between socialism and corporatism, the angular stone of fascism and nazi economical policies.

Anitfa hate...fascist, people who hate democracy, free speech, racial and sexual equality, religious freedom, intellectuals. In other words they hate villains. Equivocating hate of 70% of the planet to hate of those who hate 70% of the planet for things that are basically birth accident.

Antifa hate... Israel, mostly because they consider it to be an apartheid State guilty of numerous war crime which isn't totally wrong. If Israel changes its politics on palestinian territories and population, they will stop hating it. Notice that they hate the Israeli government not the Israeli people while neo-nazis hate people.

Shut down free speech... this one is hard to argue against, but antifa groups are counter protesters who target specifically fascists who are opposed to free speech on a ideological level. Antifa's own ideology is that of anarcho-communism which is in favor of free speech and will fight and use violence against those who threaten it: fascists and neo-nazis. Basically, they meet fire with fire in defense of free speech even if it does involve getting very dirty in process.

Hate filled and violent: that's indeed completly impossible to argue against and neither would they, but lets consider this. Of all murders linked to political extremism in the last decade, 2% are linked to Left wing groups, 74% are linked to Right Wing Group and the rest to Religious extremism (mostly Islamist terror). In other words in term of violence, you are comparing a school bully to a mobster.

It's not because two groups are violent and riot that they are the same.

And that's why I think meme should strive to be funny not insightful.

Freedom is servitude to justice and intellectual honesty.

Why do liberal leftards struggle so much with the concept of equality and free speech?

They are easily triggered. Safe space sissies. Now they have "trigger warnings" and want to be protected from anything they deem offensive. Like the kids at Emory University that needed counseling after someone wrote "Trump 2016" in chalk on the sidewalk. Republican campaign posters are considered hate speech.
