RE: Altered musical taste... or getting old.
.... music ....

I do have to say that I really enjoy music. I'm 37 now so I grew up during the 80's.

In the 80's I was of those heavy metal teens.. had the open plad shirt, long hair and the Metal up your Ass T-Shirts lol.

Megadeth
Metallica
Slayer
Ozzy
Sepultura
Iron Maiden
Pantera

Then the 90's rolled on in and it seemed like the metal genre kinda stalled.. Megadeth and Metallica's new albums in the 90's started to suck... Slayer kinda went into the metal/punk area .. Pantera stuck with it but eventually ended.

2000's are here and well fuck yeah.. Slayer has dropped that punk crap and went back to their old ways.. some newer bands have come about and I enjoy them just as much as I have always enjoyed my favorites from the 80's..

Today I still listen to the old school Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and some classic rock from the 70's and have added these bands since they came roaring into the metal scene.. Arch Enemy and Lamb of God.

That's about it .. I DON'T LIKE rap, country, pop, hip hop, jazz, techno, or any of that other new age bullshit.

Drones since the dawn of time
Compelled to live your sheltered lives
Not once has anyone ever seen
Such a rise of pure hypocracy
I'll instigate I'll free your mind
I'll show you what I've known all this time

God Hates Us All, God Hates Us All
You know it's true God hates this place
You know it's true he hates this race

Homicide-Suicide
Hate heals, you should try it sometime
Strive for Peace with acts of war
The beauty of death we all adore
I have no faith distracting me
I know why your prayers will never be answered

God Hates Us All; God Hates Us All
He Fuckin' hates me

Pessimist, Terrorist targeting the next mark
Global chaos feeding on hysteria
Cut throat, slit your wrist, shoot you in the back fair game
Drug abuse, self abuse searching for the next high
Sounds a lot like hell is spreading all the time
I'm waiting for the day the whole world fucking dies

I never said I wanted to be God's disciple
I'll never be the one to blindly follow

Man made virus infecting the world
Self-destruct human time bomb
What if there is no God would you think the fuckin' same
Wasting your life in a leap of blind faith
Wake the fuck up can't ignore what I say
I got my own philosophy

I hate everyone equally
You can't tear that out of me
No segregation -separation
Just me in my world of enemies

I never said I wanted to be God's disciple
I'll never be the one to blindly follow
I'll never be the one to bear the cross-disciple

I reject this fuckin' race
I despise this fuckin' place

How did you know that this was one of my favorite songs?? Errhhmm?

RE: Altered musical taste... or getting old.
Here's another favorite of mine...

Slayer - Cult

Oppression is the holy law
In God I distrust
In time His monuments will fall
Like ashes to dust
Is war and greed the masters plan?
The bible's where it all began
Its propaganda sells despair
And spreads the virus everywhere

Religion is hate
Religion is fear
Religion is war
Religion is rape
Religion's obscure
Religion's a whore

The pestilence is Jesus Christ
There never was a sacrifice
No man upon the crucifix
Beware the cult of purity
Infectious imbecility
I've made my choice. Six six six

[Lead - Hanneman]

Corruption breeds the pedohile
Don't pray for the priest
Confession finds the lonely child
God preys on the weak
You think your soul can still be saved
I think you're fucking miles away
Scream out loud here's where you begin
Forgive me father for I have sinned

Religion is hate
Religion is fear
Religion is war
Religion is rape
Religion's obscure
Religion's a whore

The target's Fucking Jesus Christ
I would've lead the sacrifice
And nailed him to the crucifix
Beware the cult of purity
Infectious imbecility
I've made my choice. Six six six

Jesus is pain
Jesus is gore
Jesus is the blood
That's spilled in war
He's everything
He's all things dead
He's pulling on the trigger
Pointed at your head

Through fear you're sold into the fraud
Revelation revolution
I see through your Christ Illusion

[Lead - King]

The war on terror just drags along
My war with God is growing strong
His propaganda sells despair
And spreads the violence everywhere

Religion is hate
Religion is fear
Religion is war
Religion is rape
Religion's obscure
Religion's a whore

There is no fuckin' Jesus Christ
There never was a sacrifice
No man upon the crucifix
Beware the cult of purity
Infectious inbecility
I've made my choice. Six six six

[Lead - Hanneman]

I have never wished I could read more than just now. Damn you illiteracy. Damn you.

RE: Altered musical taste... or getting old.
Regardless of your musical taste, you will like this. I have written a new Christmas carole about the sanitary conditions in the manger. Hope you enjoy it.
A MANGY CHRISTMAS
In Bethlehem, a child was born
A planned and wanted kid
It's hard to find a manger there
Like Joe and Mary did
They had to share their quarters with
Some sheep and cattle, too
With Jesus and his cradle there
There was hardly room to move

Three wise guys from the East showed up
With gifts of riches rare
With gold and myrrh and frankincense
They parked their camels there
With all the sheep and cattle dung
The place smelled pretty bad
But Jesus' folks could not afford
A better-smelling pad

From humble places sometimes comes
A great and noble king
Above this manger filled with crap
The heavenly choirs did sing
His name is famous round the world
It's one we all should know
And you can hear it every day
When someone stubs his toe

(Key of C, arpeggio fingerpicking style.)
I will sing and play this song next Thursday, 12/22 at the Baltimore Songwriters Assn. homecoming party at Teavolve in downtown Baltimore. It starts at 7:00 p.m. Be there or be elsewhere.[/quote]
