American Politics
A: Republicans suck.
B: I know. The Democrats really understand things.
A: I don't really agree with them either.
B: It's one or the other.
A: So you're a Democrat?
B: I'm an Arepublican.
A: What's that?
B: The prefix "A" means without, so I'm without Republican.
A: So you're a Democrat.
B: Nope.
A: But you just said you're not a Republican.
B: Arepublicanism is just a lack of Republicanism.
A: So you stay neutral?
B: Hell no! Fence sitters are lazy assholes.
A: So you vote Democrat.
B: Hey, maaaaan, I already told you, Arepublican just means without Republican.
A: So, what? You vote Green? Libertarian?
B: Are you retarded? Arepublicans are simply not republicans.
A: So who is someone who votes Democrat?
B: A strong Arepublican.
A: So Arepublicans vote Democrat?
B: You are dense, aren't you? Arepublicans simply aren't Republicans.
A: But a lot of Arepublicans vote Democrat.
B: That's just Republican propaganda, maaaan.
A: So does that make me?
B: Do you vote Republican?
A: I don't support either party so I didn't vote last time.
B: That's impossible. You either vote or you don't. You're an Arepublican.
A: No. I was there. I've didn't vote.
B: You don't get it. We're all neutral, maaaan. Only an idiot's not neutral. I mean, I prefer Democrat, but I can't be sure.
A: So you're a Democrat.
B: You're starting to piss me off, you ignorant tard. The dictionary clearly says Arepublican means without Republican.
A: Well I don't want to be called an Arepublican because people are gonna assume I vote Democrat.
B: Pfft. Yeah. If they're retarded. I don't care what you think, you're an Arepublican, stupid.
A: But that doesn't tell people what I am, just what I'm not. Can't we use terms that define people positively?
B: Trying to define what Arepublicans are is like trying to herd cats.
A: So what do I call someone who doesn't vote?
B: An Arepublican.
A: And someone who votes Democrat?
B: An Arepublican.
A: And someone who votes Independent?
B: An Arepublican.
A: And someone who spoils their ballot?
B: An Arepublican.
A: And someone who wants to rid the world of the Republican party.
B: An Arepublican.
A: Why can't I call them Abstainers, Democrats, Independents, Objectors and Anti-Republicans?
B: Welcome to English!

Matt

RE: American Politics
Or... apolitical?

Give me your argument in the form of a published paper, and then we can start to talk.

Did you just messed up the A&B order here? It gets confusing.
