RE: An Asexual Atheist
I don't think that atheists are sexier than Christians. I am observing the same response, which is baffling. I see atheists being as adamant about having sex as fundamentalist Christians are about being abstinent. Why can some atheists not be virgins?

God is a personification of who we are, what we wish to be, and that which we do not understand.

You mean some atheists, right?

I am not one to presume how much sex a person should or shouldn't have.

I mean many atheists. It's just mind-boggling to me.

If you did a survey of people between 15 and 28 I'd expect a high rate of people saying there is something wrong with you. There does seem to be a social stigma about sex.
If you did a survey of people between 35-60 I'd expect a low rate of people saying this.

I don't thing there have been a huge amount on this thread making these claims, but I can't tell for sure.

I'm a very sexual person. But I don't understand why it would be an issue for someone to be asexual. I'm not a sexpert in the psychology department. But maybe some people just aren't sexual. I don't think you need a belief system for it. Maybe it's hormonal, mental, ect... I don't understand why it would be an issue either way. Unless it's affecting the person.

RE: An Asexual Atheist
Considering that sex is one of the deepest built in biological imperatives, yes... It's well worth checking out for health reasons.

There are deep identity issues that tie in with this which can make it quite a personal topic but since you are open about it...

Sex hormones control allot of other important functions in the body (other than sex drive) and the consequences of having too little or not enough can be nasty..Crippled the rest of your life sort of things like osteoporosis.

It could be a problem with the pituitary gland. These sort of things are worth investigating at least so you can make an informed decision for your health.

Don't leave it till it's too late and effects your future quality of life. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Some health problems can't be reversed once they happen so don't sit on your hands waiting for things to go wrong.

RE: An Asexual Atheist
when someone is a virgin at 28, because he says its low sex drive and nothing else, there could be a issue. we are just discussing the issue. we are not saying he is bad. he says he is not gay and has had chances to have sex, i think, so maybe its hormonal or mental. there could be molestation in his background, or many other things that a therapist more qualified than me can help him with. Its not normal to be in your physical prime and have no interest in wanting to see a chick naked. It would be like saying you dont like Oreo cookies. i would send you to a shrink for that too Smile
godless, how would you describe yourself? would you say your a normal looking guy. not obese? do women think your at least fairly attractive. its not like you have to be brad pitt to get a girl. women aren't as visual as men.

here is a link to the greatest tv show ever: the pick up artist. there is a guy thats a 45 year old virgin on the show. if people dont think thats odd well..
