I agree with the others, you are only providing a service to a client--just like the caterer provides food, the florist flowers, etc.

It should be as simple as that, but I bet if they knew they were paying an atheist, the atheist would be out of a job. Sad

It is cool that you're able to tolerate those who likely wouldn't tolerate you.

A wise person makes their own decisions; an ignorant one follows public opinion.

Thank you all for your words of support. I feel MUCH better now about what I do.

Ya know what? You're right! It's damn ironic! And hilarious! And I think that privately, I'll make sure to treat it that way Smile

And hey, if it worked for Brahms, damn it, I'll make it work for me...

Thank you all again. I really needed this.

Go forth, my son, and make pretty church music. Thumbsup

Some of the hymns that they sing have nice chords,
but the lyrics are dodgy"

Case in point:

I get goosebumps every time I listen to this particular rendition. Thumbsup

Yeah, I can always listen to a good rendition of Ave Maria, even though it was often heard in the church I attended I don't relate it to that.

Just out of sorta-out-of-topic interest, the Bach-Gounod version or the Schubert one?

I don't know... Weeping

I only know what I like when I hear it. I am musically inept. My sister got that talent...all of it...Sadcryface

She actually sang it at our brother's wedding. Catholic mass, if that helps.
