RE: And So It Begins...
I hope our winter isn't bad. With my mother in law getting a hip replacement soon, I really don't want to deal with snow or even worse ice.

Before we moved to Oregon I never saw snow. It snowed once in the Bay Area in 76 but that was nothing. Powdered sugar snow.

I'd occasionally see snow if drove to Tahoe but never actually saw snow fall.

Then we moved here and every time it snowed, us crazy Californians would run outside to play. We'd get a few good inches, schools would close and it was fun. Then it would all go away.

Until one year a week or so before Christmas we got slammed with heavy snow, then ice, followed by even more snow. It continued until January.

Fucking awful.

I'm counting on not seeing much this winter.

I've got my woodshed on wheels up to the house and full with 2 cords of wood.
The house is all set, all the windows and doors chinked.
And
I bought a snowmobile and a brand new snowblower.....

I'm jealous. Tongue I love snowmobiling!

Not as cool as Yakherder's Tactical Snowmobiling!
Anything with the word "Tactical" attached to it has got to be badass!

It's on a range qual day, so I know for a fact we'll have guns issued. I have high hopes that we'll be doing cool shit, though I suppose even just riding around beats the hell out of staying back at the armory sitting through "don't rape people or kill yourself" classes.

I go to Tahoe once in awhile too--very pretty there in the snow Thumbsup

I remember the snow we got in MA--lots and lots and lots of shoveling Wink I am willing to put up with all the shoveling to be able to go snowmobiling, snow tubing, skiing, and have a few snowball fights Big Grin

I hate snow, but we need it. I hope we get a lot.

High in the mountains where it belongs. Not on the valley floor because people here can't handle that.
