Well, people are becoming more and more open to anime as a form of entertainment for adults over here in America. I've also experienced a bit of prejudice or negative stereotyping regarding my anime fandom. It is definitely not fully accepted yet, but it is also a hugely growing cultural wave. The Netflix anime library is actually ridiculous. There used to be like 20 or so titles now there is like 100+.

Also, a fun fact, the original anime was inspired by Walt Disney's work Smile.

I prefer fantasy, but I have to live in reality.
