RE: Anosmia anyone?
A guy at college had that. well not quite. He told me he could only smell very extreme things.
This came out because we had a PE class together and after that sat together in the next class. (My college had no showers ffs!)
So I was all sweaty and apologized while opening the window in the classroom "hey sorry I stink because PE..."blabla he's like "hey no worries. I don't smell that. I smell almost nothing."
And now you know something new about me, so interesting, i can't believe it.

Why you need a few dozen maggots a month is probably best left unsaid.

My maggot story.*

When I attended Purdue U., in Indinana, I had job working for an agricultural prof., he specialized in African insects. One day he asks me if I'd like a free trip to New York. He offered to pay for a hotel overnight there, but my mission was to pick up a box from a research team coming back from central Africa. I had to bring the paperwork that allowed him to import live insects into the US. I made the connection and had a box of bugs when I checked in for the return flight. The ladies doing the baggage check (pre-9/11 days) asked me what was in the box?

"Maggots."

They put so much tape on the box that I had to advise them that the bugs needed air too. Facepalm

It's not the smell so much as the way one's eyes burn. I can cause the chrome on the floor selection buttons to tarnish after a good vindaloo.
