RE: Another Pedo-Cult (Catholic Church) scandal about to break
It seems that pedophilia is so widespread in Catholic Church that it's hardly a scandal anymore, more like it's a matter of fact.

Clearly there's that. They covered this up.
But the police department up there "closed the case" yesterday, saying "insufficient" evidence as they said they saw no evidence of child porno in the "evidence" THE DIOCESE PROVIDED. WTF did they THINK they'd get ? The public radio station up there is on their ass. They won't let this go.

In MN possessing child porno, or concealing it is a crime. So this is just starting. The police will have to answer why they didn't really investigate the evidence from the whistle-blower, AND there exists a possibility this archbishop could be indited.

It's sickening, sad, should never have happened. The catholic church should be dissolved. They're arrogant to say the rules they've agreed to, don't actually apply to them. You know the whistle-blower will be defamed...sigh....

It shouldn't be this way.

In a way it's "what goes around comes around"....
This archbishop spent (wasted) millions of dollars fighting their same-sex marriage amendment, which lost. I'm sure people up there are chuckling that he's in deep doo doo. Their radio station may (I added their web address above) get an award for their persistent reporting on this. MN is a VERY Catholic place. It was courageous.

That's the thing... it doesn't shock anymore. You just expect it.

Fucking Catholicism... and Ratzinger's attempted coverups should be considered a crime against humanity.

I agree with Billy...

There is a ray of sunshine in this, since it's obviously on the radio stations radar! That's good they're rattling the cages.

Like the old song by Bob Dylan

There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

Just going to remain guardedly optimistic that one day things really will change for the better.

Thank you Bucky for starting this thread! Heart

(23-09-2013 08:49 AM)Anjele Wrote:  These stories cause me to wonder about the boys I went to school with. Small, rural town with about 3,500 people in town and many on farms outside of town. Every one of the smaller towns had grand Catholic churches as well as Catholic elementary schools. After that kids were sent to the town where I grew up for Catholic middle and high school. The town had a Basilica. Catholic was big!. From first grade on you were taught by nuns, later on brothers and priests also taught. Almost every boy I knew served as an altar boy, it was expected.

From a young age we were taught not to ever question the authority of the clergy, it just wasn't allowed. Some of the guys I keep in contact with refer to the town as being evil...that they can feel the evil emanating from it when they are within a certain distance or can see the twin spires of the church. None have said it, but I wonder how many of my classmates had bad experiences that involved clergy. Many of the guys my age moved far, far away and/or left the Catholic church. Most of the girls I graduated with are still within 50 miles of the town and are still quite Catholic.
I think what you describe here is fairly conventional in heavily catholic communities.
