Yes! We all need more cat thread posts. It's good for stress and I need a good laugh.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

I see two species.

“Ocean: A body of water occupying about two-thirds of a world made for man - who has no gills.”~ Ambrose Bierce

RE: Another cat thread for Tartarus
This adorable carving of a cat in a yogi posture appears in “The Descent of the Ganges”, a 7th century stone cut monument in the Hindu Mamallapuram temple complex of Tamil Nadu, India. The monument as a whole recalls a popular story of the god Shiva catching the female representation of the Ganges River in his hair upon her descent from heaven. The carving is highly detailed with nearly 150 different figures, including humans, deities, and copious amounts of animals. The meditating cat is shown surrounded my mice paying homage to it, the whole scene located under the tusks of a nearly life-size elephant. This recalls a story told in the 160th chapter (Ulukadutagamana Parva) of the great Hindu epic the _Mahabharata_ (circa 4th-century BCE).

A cat takes up ascetic practices on the edge of the Ganges River. Animals normally considered its prey, such as birds and mice, come to pay homage to the feline, the latter even asking the yogi to take them under its protection. The cat promises to save them from danger (presumably through magic powers gained from his austerities), but asks only that a small group of them come every day to move his weak body closer to the water so he can see his reflection. This, however, is a ruse because the cat eats the mice who come everyday. He grows fatter and fatter as the mice population gets smaller and smaller. The rodents finally realize what’s happening and leave the area. The story is used as a warning against worshipping false prophets.

Yabbut, don't try this in real life. One tiny puncture by a cat claw, and your bird will need a long course of antibiotics and still may die from it. Plus, you may not even know your bird has a puncture and wonder why it up and died.

Cats are not always in control of their claws and may mean no harm...
