Answering Father Barron
You all might enjoy, or at least be intrigued by Bishop Barron

He is not a typical fire and brimstone kind of guy. He is a priest but I believe critiques atheism in a sincere and intellectual matter.

Popcorn

Check out my now-defunct atheism blog. It's just a blog, no ads, no revenue, no gods.

RE: Answering Father Barron
There is no such thing as "New Atheism".
It's a fake piece of crap, Catholics like Barron and Feser cooked up.
Unbelief is the same as it's always been.

If only Father Barron applied the same level of critique to his own religion.

RE: Answering Father Barron
I thought it was 30 posts or 14 days for links to post? Whatever. Barron ought to apply that critique to his beliefs, as Jenny mentioned.

RE: Answering Father Barron
He has it backwards.
Looking at fantastical stories with a skeptical eye is not frivolous as he stated, it's holding religion up to modern standards of evidence rather than faith.
It's also not a fad.

Since he's not here to defend his comments I'd much rather you explained why you believe that a god exists. We can get to why you think the Catholics have it right if we can get past defining what you mean by god and what evidence there is for it actually existing.

Atheism: it's not just for communists any more!
