Anti Catholic persecution in Spain
Why is it that atheistic persecution of christians is never taught in the history books?

Why isn't this taken learned about or even discussed?

I read no where in the article you cited that these were done by atheists.

I read the words leftist and socialist.

No atheists.

You've conflated political ideology with non-belief. Nothing is done in the name of atheism. Corrupt people do bad things, yes. But that's everywhere.

Simple. The illuminati control what is put in the books because it's all a huge conspiracy of atheists secretly running the world and persecuting you poor, helpless believers, right?

Atheism: it's not just for communists any more!

Also, one has to keep in mind what Spanish history is all about. The church being accomplice to the fascist regime and such. Not that long ago. Only a measly 42 years back Franco snuffed it.

I guess this is more about pushing back Catholic influence from the public domain rather than persecuting Catholics for going to church. There are some countries where the church did a lot of damage. Ireland. Spain, Portugal or Poland.

I don't think that Catholics are persecuted on an individual level. Only what the church symbolized. And that on a political level.

Please learn what atheism is. It will really help you out on this forum.

It's a lack of belief in gods. (Or a belief in the lack of them.) That's it.

I have a website here which discusses the issues and terminology surrounding religion and atheism. It's hopefully user friendly to all.

Hey, how come Catholics have such a long history of persecuting and killing Jews?

Even still, atheism is not an organized movement anyway. They're just individuals who don't believe in a deity. Likewise, the term "theist" doesn't imply any organization or connection between the various theist parties. Do Catholics have to speak for and take responsibility for the actions of radical Muslims just because they both believe in Allah a deity matching the exact same description who the Muslims believe is actually the same as the Catholic god? No of course not! I am a theist, but ProudCatholic certainly doesn't speak for me. I'd wager a guess that PC doesn't even speak for other Catholics.

Trying to figure out whether your style of posting and then refusing to interact is due to a lack of guts or a lack of smarts.
