Any TTA members from Japan
Looks like "the big one" hit Japan. Hope you all are al-right.

Anyone any news? I hope they get that fire in that Nuclear power centre under control soon. I trust the Japanese are on top of it.

I hope everybody is alright. Luckily the one person I do know over in Japan is safe and sound. And a good friend of my fiance's is safe as well. Can't say that for many other people though.

Death toll's over 1000 already.

From the videos I expected a number many times higher than that. I know the counting is far from over, but I think the Japanese have probably the best prepared systems in the world in place for such a catastrophy and will lose far less people than any other country would have in the same situation. I hope I am right about that.

Watched some of the videos of this. It's impossible to put into words how crazy and unbelievable it all is. Really makes you feel small to see the power of nature. Very humbling.

My reason for being is to serve as a cat cushion. That is good enough for me. Wink

The Japanese do have very expensive, tsunami and earthquake detector. My science teacher yesterday was showing us the waves that hit japan. It was horrible D:

Even though like 200,000 people evacuated, their homes have been destroy and will probably cost millions or even billions for repairs. The USA is helping them repair with their military, and giving them support. Good job Obama Big Grin

I just wonder if science in the future will be able to control our earth's climate. Seems very futuristic and science fiction, but it's possible. Just a matter of time when we become so advanced in society into a planetary civilization/ type 1.

We are influencing the weather. So far it is proving to be a bad thing. Trying to control weather will be a mistake filled endeavor. How much damage will we do before we get it right? It might be better to leave things alone. The first rule of rocket science is - If you don't know what you are doing, don't do anything.
