Controlling climate? Maybe. Controlling plate tectonics? Don't think so.

Correct me when I'm wrong.

RE: Any TTA members from Japan
I feel so sorry about Japanese people, my best wishes to them, luckily, in my city there are a lot of recolecting centers in order to make donations, I will make my donation tomorrow, and I'm glad to help in any way I can.

I would generally find a national donation for the country since wire transfers can be in Yen. Better to fund that country's organization in this effort than your own country's.

I'm not a non believer, I believe in the possibility of anything. I just don't let the actuality of something be determined by a 3rd party.

How sick is this God of their's?

I heard some islands can go completely underwater. Confused

God, had nothing to do with it.

That's a devastatingly affective picture worth the thousand words missing to describe this unspeakable devastation. Wow! Simply, wow!

Ok, no laser bolts directed my way thinking I'm one of the dread conspiracy foe, but I have to ask because I'm only fortunate enough to spell; Science.

If we have the technology in Satellites to afford ground penetrating imagery that permits oil companies to find deposits so as to sink wells and the like, is it impossible to have some kind of installed device like lasers (Thinking of the old Star Wars defense system I heard of but know little about), or some other technology that could penetrate just as deeply and thereby have some effect on plate tectonics? Don't fault lines, like just the two that are presently off both the east and west coast of the U.S. afford an avenue of penetration to the lower depths so as to have access to employ such a technology on the plates, if the technology did/could exist?

It's a thought.
Yes, I know it's a weird one and I should lay off the taffy! Tongue

The continental plates are huge masses of solid land, even at ocean depths. They float on an ocean of molten metal, mostly iron, which is the earth's core. This core has strong currenent due to earths rotation a nd the moons gravity. The amount of energy required to create continental drift is enough to stagger the imagination. Imagine stopping a two-mile long, fully laden freight train that is traveling at 75 miles an hour, then multiply that by 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. As you see, it is not an easy problem to solve.

When I find myself in times of trouble, Richard Dawkins comes to me, speaking words of reason, now I see, now I see.
