RE: Any good books on Old Testament scholarship?
I think my "wasted time" ratio on the bible, as an atheist, has been 90% NT to 10% OT. I enjoy digging into all the little nooks, crannies, and crevices of the NT probably because it's such a unified little two-generation fable with a taste of actual historicity whereas the OT is just batshit campfire bullshit stories undeserving of careful breakdown. Jennybee mentioned Ehrman, that's probably good as his NT stuff is good and comprehensible for a non-academic popular audience (i.e., me).

If you can find it God, Satan, Messiah ... and? by Artur Sandauer is pretty good.

OP. Have you read the OT?
NOTE: Member, Tomasia uses this site to slander other individuals. He then later proclaims it a joke, but not in public. I will call him a liar and a dog here and now. Banjo. |

Screw some theoreticians take on the bible. Read it yourself. I find revelations most revealing.
