Any telescope users
Hey,

I got my telescope for xmas and was wondering if anyone here has a telescope and has viewed the ISS. If so could you tell me if it is view-able with some detail I mean. I know that joker goes pretty fast through the sky. It has been so cloudy and raining non-stop so I haven't had a chance to catch it.

I have never had any luck seeing the ISS with a telescope - it's going too darn fast for me to track. You might try the Sky and Telescope or Astronomy magazine sites for some "How-to"s. I have had some success with binoculars on a tripod.

I got the table top version with no tripod. I have to get a tripod next because setting it on something outside and tracking fast moving objects is probably going to be tricky!

What scope did you get?

That's a nice scope, but you would have trouble tracking the ISS with that configuration.

Here's a link for ISS observing: Starry Skies. They suggest binoculars.

The sun is out today maybe that's a good sign. I got the starrynight program with it. I'm checking out that link you sent also. If I do get a shot at it I'll try to snap a pic with my digital camera. That alone is a pain to do through the eye piece lmao.
