I will say this, what this guy did a few years ago was pretty neat.

I bought some ribbons and a dwarf alberta spruce that was already decorated with some plastic ornaments. Slapped on some lights and BAM! My decorations.

The tree will be converted into a bonsai once the season's up.

I do like seeing all the Christmas lights, though. Something is just magical about sipping on some hot cocoa in the nippy air with the festive lights all around.

Ignorance is not to be ignored.

I have a Charlie Brown Christmas tree too, as well as a dancing tree that sings "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." I have some lights outside and a regular Christmas Tree. Nothing religious though. I have an ornament that says "axial tilt is the reason for the season"

We put up a few (lighted) pagan wreaths.
You can see them from quite a long way away. Angel

Growing up without religious parents I kinda didn't know that Christmas was about god and stuff until I was around 10. Christmas was all about bringing some of the outside woods into our house. My dad and all of us kids would hike up near Donner Pass area and chop down a tree (it was probably illegal but, oh well) and we'd drag the tree home and make it all pretty. My mother would go out and cut up a couple branches from a tree and put it on our front door. It was probably very close to what the pagans did. It was simple. We didn't have a lot of money so gifts were pretty simple too.

The Truckee River was across a medow from our cabin and it would sometime freeze around the edges but it never seemed to freeze solid. So for me, as someone from the Northern Hemisphere, I think of Christmas as a winter celebration with no religious connection.

Here's the Truckee River in the winter. Brrrrrrrrr

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Yup! My family really enjoys Christmas and we have some nice traditions.

Nothing involves Jesus. Promise. Smile

RE: Anyone else decorate this time of year?
I'm a minimalist decorator -- I leave my Christmas lights wired up up inside the front porch year-round, but only turn them on in December. They're on a switched outlet, so to "decorate" I have to plug in a power bar and flick a switch just inside the front door.

That reminds me... (runs downstairs and activates lights for the evening)

I also decorate my music stand with lights for seasonal concerts, if only to out-bling the tuba section.

Only other thing I regularly do is buy a real evergreen wreath about a week before Yule, mainly because I love the way it smells. Got out of the habit of putting up a tree when I had cats, because it kept getting knocked over and chewed upon. (When I did have a tree, though, it was not uncommon to have a Buddha statue meditating under the tree, and an octopus as the "star" on the top.)

I'm sorry, but your beliefs are much too silly to take seriously. Got anything else we can discuss?
