LOL more Moving the Goalposts. On ONE hand you claim that one must only have "the faith of a mustard seed", and on the other you tell people that they aren't "A/S/K"-ing hard enough. You can't have your special pleading and eat it too, asshole.

You DO know that your religion stole the "mustard seed" idea from another religion, and that that parable was FAR better than yours.

Of course you don't, you are a fucking idiot.

Any faith at all is faith.

Step Right Up, Folks, Get Yer Mustard Seed Oil Right Here!

OH, but FIRST, you pathetic bullshit artist, you claimed it DOESN'T require faith.

Typical pathological liar, which is what any xtard apologist is.

Funny how you bastards never, ever actually apologize.

One literally has to have more 'faith' in science and philosphy than what is needed to obtain the evidence God offers.

More faith in science? You are once again showing your idiocy, stubborness, and belief perseverance. You are a stupid, very stupid robot.

Then please.. Explain why there is no need for faith when it comes to science.

How about if we did a little experiment with you and your fellow believers? We'll take 5,000 Christians (you being one of them), and 5,000 atheists and infect all the people in both groups with bubonic plague. We'll give the atheists medical treatment (which we discovered through that "faith" called science!), and the Christians will be allowed no medical treatment and rely on their faith to survive by praying to their god. If your reasoning is correct, your omnipotent invisible sky daddy will cure all of you Christians, while he will cause all the atheists to die (considering that he's the petty, jealous asshole that the Bible describes him as).

That should settle your argument and prove you right once and for all!

This idea of "faith" in science is merely another equivocation; D-Wreck's sad attempt at semantic prestidigitation. What D-Wreck is trying to call "faith" in science is actually CONFIRMED CONFIDENCE. We see for ourselves the efficacy of the Scientific Method: it WORKS. But D-Wreck would cast our well-deserved confidence in it as just as flimsy as his blind belief in his fairy tales.

His shell game ain't working.

Besides you skipping the question (second paragraph) that I actually wanted you to answer, OK, I'll read this...

Interesting. Read through your article and seems your idea is not fact (from what I gather), but just another idea. Let me show you:
Jeff A. Benner Wrote:1 Samuel 2.29 - Why do you scorn my sacrifice and offering that I prescribed for my dwelling? Why do you honor your sons more than me by fattening yourselves on the choice parts of every offering made by my people Israel?' The word "fattening" in the passage above is the Hebrew word "bara". The noun form of this verb is "beriya" and can be found in Genesis 41.4 - "And the cows that were ugly and gaunt ate up the seven sleek, fat cows." The word "fat" is the Hebrew word "beriya".

The word "bara" does not mean, "create" (Hebrew actually has no word that means "create" in the sense of something out of nothing) but "to fatten". If we take the literal definition of "bara" in Genesis 1.1 we have - In the beginning God fattened the heavens and the earth. What does this fattening of the heavens and earth mean? This verse is not showing the creation of the heaven and earth, but rather the fattening or filling up of it. Therefore, Genesis 1.1 is a condensed version of the whole creation story.

Now here is a quote from another creationist, one with a PhD in theology:
Andrew Kulikovsk Wrote:Another good piece of evidence for the narrative nature of Genesis 1 is the use of the perfect to begin the narrative (ie. bara) and the use of imperfects to continue it (ie. wayyomer and wayehi). This is very clear indication of classical historical narrative.

Also:
Helen Fryman Wrote:The normal order for a Hebrew narrative sentence is

Conjunction--Verb--Subject--Object.

The order in poetic writing is

Subject--Verb--Object

-- the same as we see it in normal English. The difference is quite obvious in the Hebrew.

"While the Hebrew language may seem frightening to some, it really is not. The style of writing of Genesis 1 is historical, using thewaw-consecutive to express consecutive action (waw = and). Biblical historians use this style to: "express actions, events, or states, which are to be regarded as the temporal or logical sequence of actions, events, or states mentioned immediately before." (Ref. 7) What this means for Genesis 1 is that God describes a sequence of events that occur one after the other throughout the creation week. We see this sequence reflected in the English as 'And God said,' 'And there was,' or 'And it was,' with which each verse in Genesis I begins. Each occurrence signifies that some action followed another in a real time sequence." [ E. Kautzsch,Genesius' Hebrew Grammar, 2nd edition revised by A.E. Cowley (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1910), p. 133.] by James Stambaugh. ICR Impact #251. [http://ldolphin.org/waw.html] {note: the waw-consec doesn't always imply actions in sequence - it can also be used to expand on an event just mentioned.].

Your site might be impressing, but honestly I can't get around the fact that it does not have any references to any claims. It assumes I'm familiar with ancient Hebrew (obviously I'm not), and pretty much just tells me "believe what I say because I can translate Hebrew and you can't". That's nice and all, but still, some references to look up would be nice for people who don't just believe everything they hear...

I have provided you a verifiable secondary source of information. Which in of itself not only supports my commentary, the website I provided is dedicated to preserving ancient Hebrew culture. If you find some evidence to casts doubt on what is recorded there the information I gave you, then your in a position to question it. As it is what I provided is enough to accept, research or challenge based on your own findings. As you have made no effort on your own and simply want different information, I can only conclude this is an attempt for you to remain in your ignorance while feigning an interest for the expressed purpose of having me jump through your hoops.

I've been doing this a while now and I know busy work when I see it. So, sorry Ryan, trixs is for kids.
If you want to have a debate on this then provide material the counters what has been said on this web site. Simply saying it won't do or is not enough isn't good enough.

Is this your 2nd or 3rd post on this matter? If your faith in your 'science' works as well as you say it does then why the need to not only prop it up, but reinforce your comment two or three different times?

Or are you afraid, that things like global warming, the mini ice age we are now supposed to be enduring due to the SAME co2 emissions they told us about in the 80's, plutos planetary status, the cfc hole in the ozone, and on and on and on.. Might cause one to doubt, therefore, pushing continuing belief to be predicated on FAITH that the current theories are indeed the correct ones?

Laugh out load

How is this a test of anything, except the depths a Godless mind is willing to go to prove his version of God does not exist... You are suggesting that 5 to 10 thousand people be subject to death just to prove your understanding of God does not work.

Understand I do not repersent your warped understanding of God. I repersent the God of the bible. The God of the bible makes no deals or bargains to protect beliefs from plague. So what would be the point?

...
So what would be the point?

The point would be to demonstrate whether faith in something happening has any influence on the outcome. It is an experiment that can be reproduced.

You cannot deny the importance of evidence. Imagine if the 5,000 christians survived and all the 5,000 atheists died. Christians would delight in using that evidence. They would use it to show people that their way is the right one.

But of course you knew that, you just want to avoid answering the question.
