If my family is to be believed (Tongue) then...

Quanah Parker

Though, I hate to post it at all, when they don't seem to be sure. The last I heard was that they were not certain if we were actually descended from him or just somehow related through his mother's (Cynthia Ann Parker) side of the family. Undecided

Actor Don Beddoe.

His design for Canada's flag was almost the winner.

Yes, and a Nobel Peace Prize winner at that. I don't feel comfortable sharing my last name online, though.

oooh I wish I had a famous actor in my family, that would be kind of neat! Thumbsup

I barely remember meeting him. He visited with his wife when my great uncle Waldy came to visit.

But as if to knock me down, reality came around

Afraid that's where I am also. My dad would kill me if I went down the list.
I think Vera figured it out once, or at least asked me. The people who got the music from the holidays know. I would happily PM the info, but after the "he who must not be named" fisasco, we aren't even allowed on Face Book.
A clue below : Tongue

(BTW, funny though ... the one I'm the proudest of was neither rich nor famous in the normal sense the others were. A feminist far before her time. The only woman in her law class who refused to be tied down by convention. She, early in her career, was a nurse in the army. Stationed in London during the Blitzkrieg, General Eisenhower, the Supreme Allied Commander, was visiting on the floor on which she was in charge. It was past visiting hours. She kicked him out. The man who became the President of the US, she said "Time to go". That sort of summed up her life. Smile

RE: Anyone "famous" in your family tree?
Margaret Mattson The "Witch of Ridley Creek"

She was the only woman tried for witchcraft in Pennsylvania. Found innocent of being a witch but guilty of the reputation. William Penn was the judge.

Her story is what they based "The Blair Witch Project" on. (Though the movie has nothing to do with the actual case.)

We have trial transcripts or whatever in the family history book. Its pretty cool.
