Aquatopia
If you were a sea creature, what kind of social grouping, if any, would be most conducive to your character? And why?

In other words,
a) Open ocean or part of a settlement?
b) What creature?
sea) Reef, school, solitary hunter, etc?
c) Synnecrosis, or symbiosis (mutualism or commensalism or parasitism) or amensalism (competition antibiosis)

For fun (at someone else's expense), why not try to predict what other people will say? Evil_monster

Note that this is an open poll and more than one answer can be selected.

Smile

And if this thread doesn't degenerate into a gun debate before post #20, I'll be amazed. Big Grin

... and why?

I'd have thought you would have chosen...

On second thoughts, maybe that's more appropriate for Muffsy.

Yes

Yes

Mantis shrimp is pretty cool right enough, but dolphins get to travel, they can be social or they can choose to fuck off on their own if they want. They have few predators (killer whales are fucking scary though) and they're intelligent.

Cool. Sounds like a good life.

So, do you think that everyone has a right to be a dolphin?
If so, what would they all eat?

Consider

I'm afraid not Blush Why, what does Dawkins* have to do it octopuses? I just meant that I'm fascinated by how "alien" their intelligence is, compared to ours (and right now, I'd gladly replace my fucked-up excuse for a brain with pretty much anything, the more different, the better Dodgy )

* I'll probably get excommunicated from the atheist church (Laughat ) for this, but in my menagerie of books, that all seem to have been written with the sole purpose of bringing my grey hairs in sorrow to the grave, his autobiography is in a class of its own. The ego on that man is stupefying. For gods' sakes, apparently the doggerels he spouted as a freaking four-year-old were *inspired* by freaking Ezra freaking Pound! And the best thing that could possibly be said about someone else, was to quote himself. And *then*, he was again moved by *his own* freaking words and brilliance. FOR FUCK'S SAKE! Censored

I don' wanna live in no stinkin' ocean with all those plastic particles.
I wanna be a goldfish and live at Bucky's house in a tank.
