RE: Are purity pacts/rings a 'thing' where you live?
And I suppose along the lines of "Purity Pacts" it is a moot point. I'm sure there are a few people out there that can actually wait until they are married before sex. I "personally" think that is unhealthy (and I have a daughter Dodgy ). I started having sex when I was 14 and I was stupid and the hormones were racing. As I grew older sexual relations became a very important part of any relationship. If you marry before having sex then how do you know your partner will fulfill your / their needs. I personally think it is an antiquated practice which is why "most" of us would probably never sign a purity pact in the first place.

I get to decide what my life looks like, not the other way around.

I don't think it is that unusual, but it is just a very quick peck, eyes open, not a full on smooch as that photo appears to be.

*shudder*

I hope you didn't take me wrong on that front. I understand what you are saying. I'm "personally" uncomfortable with doing that with "my" daughter but that is a personal thing on my part. If my daughter is feeling down or has had a bad day I hug her and kiss her on top of the head or cheek to let her know everything is going to be okay. Kissing her on the mouth (even a peck) would just seem weird to me. I understand there are cultural differences also but that picture just looked... well... you know.
No worries, it's just something I've done since they were tiny so natural to me, I totally get that others might not find it that way. We've also made it clear to our kids that if they start to feel weird about it or self conscious/embarrassed (this among other things, for example walking round the house nekkid) they only have to say (although I think I'm quite attuned to them and would probably pick up any discomfort first anyway).

They are more than creepy, they are incredibly skeevy.

RE: Are purity pacts/rings a 'thing' where you live?
I dated a girl with a purity ring back in the day. She even kept it on while I got her clothes off, which btw only took about 2 dates.

Of course she wouldn't let us do "regular sex", just everything else. We broke up 4 months later when we got into a fight after I made fun of her for thinking she was still a virgin.

Never deny a woman her illusions.

Creepy, just creepy.
